Moody Sean

Sean Blau is a Writer/Director originally from the Southern California desert. His first feature Exile (Midnight Releasing, 2014), aka The Sunderland Experiment, was Co-Directed with frequent collaborator Adam Petke. It was awarded Best Feature at Atlanta’s Buried Alive Film Festival, and Audience Choice at Portland’s H.P Lovecraft Film Festival, the first time that award had gone to a feature. Sean returned to the Lovecraft Festival in 2015 with “Mercy,” winning Best Short.

A filmmaker since early days, Sean has worked across California. While active in the SF indie scene he created a series of shorts on alienation, conformity, and bad dates, his own small contribution to keeping the city weird. Many debuted to the public at the Peaches Christ Underground Short Film Festival and are now available online.

Sean currently lives in L.A. where he reunited with fellow SFSU Cinema alums to Co-Produce 2016’s Chemical Cut, debuting at Slamdance.
