It wanted me inside it.
“Mercy” began life as an ABCs of Death 2 contest entry and was an attempt at exploring issues related to death and euthanasia. Never really fit in with the crowd, sorta a ska song in a heavy metal concert, but Tony Wash liked it and picked it up for his compilation of horror shorts World of Death. It’s also played at a few festivals including Downtown L.A., the Philip K. Dick Film Festival, Virginia Tech’s Studio Collective, and the H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival where it won Best Short.
You can watch the film and read Bloody Disgusting’s write-up for it here.
If you’d like to actually own “Mercy” along with some other like-minded Lovecraftian entries into the weird (including Adam Petke’s bizarre desert horror short “Fat Rabbit”), check out the H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival Best of 2015 DVD here.
